Margaret
Ioannides practices exclusively in the field of
immigration law. Following her graduation, at
the top of her class and Phi Beta Kappa, from
the University of Florida, she attended the prestigious
joint degree program in Law and Foreign Service
at Georgetown University. She received
both her law degree and her Master of Science
degree in the Foreign Service in 1996. Her studies
concentrated in the field of international law
and relations, as well as international business.
Since
graduating in 1996, Ms. Ioannides has worked,
in both the public and private sectors, in the
field of U.S. Immigration and Nationality law.
She was selected into the Attorney General’s
Honors Program, where she worked as an
Attorney Advisor at the U.S. Department
of Justice, Board of Immigration Appeals, the
highest national administrative tribunal for immigration
law. She has also worked for prominent
law firms in Florida and Texas, handling both
employment based and family based immigration
matters on behalf of corporate and individual
clients. Ms. Ioannides is fluent in both
Spanish and Greek. She has studied in
Spain and the Netherlands, and has worked at the
U.S. Embassy in Athens, Greece. She has also traveled
extensively throughout Latin America, Europe,
and Turkey.
Ms.
Ioannides is a member in good standing of the
Florida Bar and the American Immigration
Lawyers Association. She
has written on immigration law topics for the
Austin Human Resource Management Association and
has been published in the Texas Lawyer, the Austin
Business Journal, and the Florida Bar's International
Law Quarterly. She has also been interviewed as an
Immigration Law expert by Austin's News Channel 8. Ms. Ioannides also frequently
presents to Universities, trade, and community groups regarding
immigration and related legal issues.
